Our Story
Prevent & Prevail was founded in 2015 after the tragic loss of my brother Michael,
an Army Veteran who, like many veterans, struggled with the invisible wounds of mental health challenges. His passing deeply impacted me, and I knew I had to take action to address the issues that too often go unspoken. Prevent & Prevail is dedicated to supporting initiatives that further the mission of men's and Veterans' mental health wellness and suicide prevention at all levels. We believe that open conversations about mental health and suicide are crucial in breaking the stigma and saving lives.
As Michael's sister, I felt a profound need to honor his memory by creating a way to advocate for those who may feel alone in their struggles. Prevent & Prevail is committed to raising awareness, providing resources, and supporting programs that work tirelessly to prevent suicide and promote mental wellness. Our mission is to foster a community where these critical issues are addressed openly and help those working toward healing and offering help. Your support saves lives.

Founder and Chair
I founded Prevent & Prevail in 2015, after the heartbreaking loss of my brother, Michael, an Army Veteran who struggled with the invisible wounds of mental health challenges. His death was a profound turning point in my life, driving me to take action and make a difference in the lives of others facing similar battles. Prevent & Prevail is the embodiment of that commitment, dedicated to supporting initiatives that promote men’s and veterans' mental health wellness and suicide prevention at all levels.
Before founding Prevent & Prevail, I spent ten years building a successful career in the corporate world. However, after Michael’s passing, I realized that I needed to do more—something that truly made a difference. This realization led me to make the difficult decision to leave my career behind and return to graduate school. I am currently working toward a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with the goal of working directly with clients and having a hands-on role in helping others navigate their mental health challenges.

Secretary and Community VolunteerWhen Jessica decided to start Prevent & Prevail in 2015, I was so proud of her for wanting to take action and help those struggling with their mental health. When she asked me to join the board, I didn't have to think twice - I've been here since the beginning, and it's been a joy to watch our impact grow.
I'm truly honored to be a part of the work we do to raise money for such an incredible cause.
